I am a CTU member with a severely compromised immune system. Staying in, feeling intense pain and illness, and being alone has become a big part of my life. I’ve learned to cope the best I can, but being away from my students adds a whole new layer of being alone.

I live alone with my two kitties, and when I think about the possibility of how long we may be in quarantine (social distancing), it worries me for my mental health and the mental health of others.

So every day or so I am going to do something I have been wanting to do more of. For me, that’s art, and I’m going to use it as a way to inspire someone to stay connected.

I know how lonely even a week of isolation can get. Keep safe and keep connected. Reach out to someone you care about today.

Today, I am going to video chat with a friend over tea. (My cat helped me a little…)
