At its September 27, 2023 meeting the CTU House of Delegates voted unanimously to make the following endorsements for the March 19, 2024 General Primary Election.
This event will bring together educators, families and elected officials to help students say goodbye to summer and start the school year off strong.

Being the daughter of civil rights icon Marion Stamps, Tara Stamps had some big shoes to fill. But, as an educator, organizer, two-time aldermanic candidate, brilliant orator and single mother of three, most people who know Stamps think she has some pretty big shoes of her own.
Thinking back, Tara Stamps wishes she had listened to the advice veteran teachers gave her going into the holiday season. But she didn’t, until years later, and boy did she pay for it.
Teaching is hard, especially in the first few years. New teachers need guidance and support — not many can make it through on their own. It takes a village to raise a good teacher and the We Care early educator mentoring program is that village.
The CTU’s We Care mentorship program seeks to mentor, support, and retain Black educators, helping them become the best teachers they can be.
