Lashawn Wallace began her career as an instructional aide at Dett Elementary and thought she wanted to become a teacher. But after attending a CTU meeting, she realized organizing was her passion.
Veteran teacher Moselean Parker has union in her blood. Her parents were such devoted union members that, after her first day teaching, all her mother wanted to know was if she met the school’s delegate. As a delegate now, Parker uses love and caring to build solidarity in her school.
As CTU delegate, organizer and now health and benefits field rep, Kathy Murray believes helping our members ultimately helps our students. She knows all the ins and outs of our contract and helps members understand them too, so they can access the benefits they deserve.
