Last night, the House of Delegates held its first meeting of the new year, and delegates dug into a number of important issues that we want to summarize for members. Honor a Substitute In Your Building

Every other month, the CTU honors two substitutes doing the essential work to keep schools running in the face of staffing shortages and teacher absences. The next round of awards will be issued at the December 7 House of Delegates, so submit a nomination today!

This resolution calls for the Union to emphasize recruitment of new educators by members at all levels of the Union. The House of Delegates overwhelmingly ratified the resolution at its December 8, 2021 monthly meeting.

Candidates for the Elementary Functional Vice President Vacancies

Seven members were nominated for Functional Vice President of Elementary School Teachers at the May 5, 2021 House of Delegates meeting. At the June 2, 2021 House of Delegates meeting, all voting delegates who are members of the Elementary School Teachers functional group may vote for three candidates to fill three Functional Vice President of Elementary School Teachers vacancies on the CTU executive board.

The terms of office of current delegates will end on January 31, 2021. This means that all school delegates as well as other active member delegates, such as PSRP delegates, clinician delegates, etc. will need to conduct remote elections in their functional groups in order to be seated at the February House of Delegates meeting on February 3, 2021.
