Are you a parent or guardian of a student? Do you have a conflict on report card day when you are expected to be at your school and also at your child/children’s school/s?
If so, reach out to your principal to inform them that you will need some time to go to your child/children’s school or to hold a remote conference with your child’s teacher/teachers. They should work with you to accommodate this need, either at the beginning of the day, by extending your lunch, or at the end of the day. Generally, teachers are allowed up to four hours per semester for teacher-parent conferences including IEPs, disciplinary meetings, and report card pick up sessions. If you encounter problems, please refer your admin to the School Visitation Rights Act, which enshrined these rights in 2021.
