CTU members at ChiArts are on the precipice of a strike, and we need your solidarity!
On Wednesday, wear your CTU red to school, take solidarity photos with your co-workers, post them on social media, and tag @CTUlocal1 on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. And please email them to communications@ctulocal1.org.
We will send another e-blast tonight at 10 pm to update you about whether management decided to come to a fair agreement at the bargaining table or whether the strike is officially on.
If the strike is on and you live or work near ChiArts, which is located at 2714 W. Augusta, come by and show your support on the picket line between 6:00 and 9:00 am! Your union siblings at ChiArts would love to see your solidarity on the picket line, just as they supported the strike at CPS in 2019.
Thank you to the educators at Hernandez Middle School and Whitney Young High School, who emailed the solidarity photos they took last week (see below).
And to the educators at ChiArts, know that all of the nearly 30,000 members of the CTU have your back!
For more background, see last week’s press release and the livestream of the press conference where we announced this week’s strike deadline.
In solidarity,
Chicago Teachers Union
