Benefits Open Enrollment
Open enrollment for health insurance and other benefits that members have fought for over the years, including in the 2019 strike, will begin on October 24. You will have two weeks to make your choices, with enrollment closing on November 4.
Benefits that you can change during the Open Enrollment period include Medical, Dental, Vision, Employee Assistance Program (there is a new provider for this), Flexible Spending Account, Health Savings Account, Life, Accidental Death and Dismemberment, Long-term Disability, Accident, and Critical Illness insurance. If you do not make changes during this period, you won’t have any opportunity to do so until next October or if you have a “life change” event.
Help making choices
Benefit options can be confusing. So, starting next week, CPS is providing meetings with representatives from the providers of these various benefits. Some of the meetings will be virtual and some will be in person. See the following schedule for events held in October. Access the schedule for the virtual events to see availability for each provider.

CPS asks that you review and update your contact information to ensure you receive all relevant communications about open enrollment and employee benefits. The steps are as follows:
- Log into Self-Service at CPS.edu/HR4U
- Click “Home and Mailing Address” under “Personal Information”
- Click on the pencil icon in the edit column to update your information
- Check the box next to “I understand & agree with the above Residency Policy terms”
- Click “Save”
