First of all, congratulations on a successful October 19 Rally for Supportive, Safe and Sustainable schools (video from the picket line | video from the rally). We had folks from across the city from both charter and district schools show up to fight for more staff, better pay and sustainable jobs.
On October 18, one day before the rally, our members at our 13 charter councils also participated in a Charter-Wide Sticker Action to increase staffing and support for our students. Both actions last week have helped to support our staffing articles at the bargaining table.
We will win the staffing demands our students DESERVE by continuing to stand together in this fight. Our power is as strong as our membership, and we need to continue to build our strength.
Here are two more essential upcoming events that you can participate in, help to build, and organize around.
On Thursday, November 3, at 5 pm, the next Virtual Town Hall about charter division issues will take place (register now!). We will provide important updates about bargaining and give time for you to ask your questions.
On Saturday, November 12, there will be a School Leaders Training from 9 am to 3:30 pm at the CTU Center, 1901 W. Carroll Ave. Council leaders, delegates, CAT Leads, PSC Members, and leaders in EVERY school will come together to discuss how to build our collective power. Register now so we know how many to expect.
