The 2020 LSC elections are taking place during report card pick-up for elementary on Wednesday, November 18 and for high school on Thursday, November 19 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. This election has obviously been hampered by the COVID-19 crisis, but CPS has also not handled it well and the CTU and our allies in the LSCs 4 All Coalition have informed CPS of our concerns about the process and communications over this election.
Parents, guardians and staff have the option to do mail-in ballots (mailing in the ballots), dropping the ballots off at school, or voting in-person. However, community members only have the option for in-person voting at the schools on the 18th or 19th. Because of our advocacy, CPS has extended the deadline for receipt of mail-in ballots to November 30. The notice most people have received is that the ballots are due on the day of the election.
All parents, guardians and staff should have received mail-in ballots already. If you haven’t received a ballot yet, please call the Office of LSC Relations at 773-553-1400 and also email Sarah Rothschild.
