CPS has announced that five schools will be offering vaccinations to students and adults aged 12 and over, beginning this Saturday, with more school vaccine sites in the works in the coming weeks. And we need your help to get the word out!

We were the first labor union in the nation to win vaccinations for our students and families, and CPS finally scheduled its first event last Saturday at Fenger. Now they’ve scheduled free walk-in vaccine opportunities at five more schools.

Westinghouse, Nash, Marshall, Juarez and CVCA will host vaccine events for children aged 12 and up and their family members this Saturday from to noon, and again on

We fought hard to win a vaccine plan for our students and their families, and while CPS’ ongoing inability to plan collaboratively has been frustrating, we are eager to get the word out to as many families and neighborhood residents as possible!

We’ve included school addresses and links to flyers in English and Spanish below that you can share with your parents and school communities — a direct benefit of our struggle to win real safety in our reopening agreement.

Will you help share these flyers with students and parents in your school community? It’s a CPS sponsored event so you can share information on your work email and share flyers and details directly with your students.

Will you bring students or family members to a vaccine event?

Remember: students ages 12–17 need a parent or guardian present with them in order to sign permission forms for students to be vaccinated. Both Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson shots will be available. Pfizer shots are available for 12–17 year olds, and second doses will be scheduled. Adults 18+ can get the one dose J&J shot.

CPS has told us that additional schools will also be scheduling more vaccine dates on May 22 at Bouchet, Brunson Ray, Simeon, and Southside (second doses on June 12), and on May 29 at Carver, Englewood STEM, Fenger, and King (second doses on June 19). We’ll share those flyers with you as soon as we receive them from CPS.

Getting students and vulnerable family members vaccinated is a key component in bringing students back to school SAFELY this fall. Join us in connecting this critical safety tool with as many students and family members as we can!
