As CTU President Jesse Sharkey steps down from leadership, he remains confident that our union’s unity and commitment to the greater good will carry CTU forward. He may no longer be president but he is still — and will always be — a proud CTU member.

School budgets must support the right to recovery

CPS has proposed more $42 million in budget cuts for more than 200 schools next year, at a time when the district is sitting on billions in federal stimulus money. That’s just half a percentage point of the annual operating budget, or just 1.5 percent of the total $2.6 billion plus in federal COVID relief CPS has received since 2020.
